Hello, I am Luca
Project manager. Parent. Expat residing in Florence, Italy.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually turned into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Italy wasn't part of the grand plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The early months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks seemed more complex than they should be.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural adjustment, doubt, and a lot of learning by doing. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something steady.
Why I Built Harvest Paper Plume
Much of the information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Italy.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site isn't:
- A resource for tourism authorities
- A paid-review platform
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Italy goes on, and the learning journey continues. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Florence or anywhere in Italy, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Luca
